Ukraine was one of the few places on earth where Anarchism was really tried to live. The Revolutionary Insurrecationary Army of Ukraine, also know as Makhnovshchina was an anarchist farmer´s and partisan´s movement during Russian civial war between 1917 and 1922. Their aim was a self-determination of the farmers and workers. They tried to built up anarchist structures of society in many parts of the country. Especially parts which are today fought by pro-russian Milizias and their ukrainian oppenents like the areas around Donezk and Luhansk were main parts of the movement.

The largest country in Europe ever was a game point of the powerful, especially the Russians within the past centuries. Russia´s name dates back from the Rus of Kijv, the area around the capital.
